Another fly very common in my compost bin. It is a little smaller than Drosophila and darker in colour. Would love to be able to file it away with a name. I am really enjoying the help I am getting on this site. |

Looking at Cook's Australian review (1971) - the long R3 and the general look, I would think this is likely the introduced Scatopse notata? I would be interested to know if our European dipteran friends think this fly fits that species. Tony |
