 Sphaerocerid (?) with thick hind femora

Hello! I know, normally it is not possible to determine Sphaerocerids after a photo. But the thickened hind femora of this rather large one (5-7 mm) let me hope, that at least genus level is possible. Fly found at our house yesterday (Ostwestfalen/Germany). Thanks in advance! According to Jindřich Roháček this is a male of Sphaerocera curvipes (Latreille, 1805). |

S. curvipes is one of the few species which are easy to ID within Sphaeroceridae, yet I would have not ventured to id this, unless I would have seen more on the wing. Sphaerocera has a relatively unique wing venation within Sphaeroceridae. S. curvipes is one of the commonest early spring species, especially if dung is around.
