I presume this is a case of scavenger rather than predator. Could you hazard a guess at the two species, Order will do. Presume larger fly is Coenosia? Taken in SW London.

thanks - the prey is certainly not unlike the Cerodontha hennigi in the Agromyzidae gallery. Are the Coenosia known to attack living flies rather than just feed on dead ones? |
