I have a question for the experts in Diptera (Asilidae):
the genitalia of this genus are rotated, so the Epandrio this at the bottom. In this species I observe two extensions that go on each side of Proctiger, I think that this is the surstylus. am I right???
The genus is Psilocurus

thank you very much in advance!

Hull (1962, p. 91, description of Psilocurus): "Male terminalia rotate one-half with a characteristically arched, bowl-shaped protuberance from the large epandrium, which is ventral in position. Gonopod small, short, with slender apical process. Hypandrium very short or absent. Genital cavity exposed but deeply recessed in depth."

Thank you very much for the reply. I know the work of Hull, and also know that this genus has rotated the genitalia and that the bottom position was the epandrium, but my question is different. I see some Psilocurus at the apex of epandrium two prosess or one on each side of cercis, (I am not sure), projecting towards the end of the abdomen, covering the genitalia.
Gives the impression that it is an extension of the epandrium
My picture is not clear. Anyway I am very grateful.
