Hi Season tachinid opened ![]() * locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL * date - 2007.04.01 * size - 7 mm (medium fly) * habitat - open land * substrate - grass Caught this fly in the grass with my hands. Tachina fera? |

Hi Jorge Close. It is a Tachina, however, not fera. Most likely Tachina magnicornis Theo Zeegers |

more detail... perhaps this could helps to have sure. I wonder why not T. fera and this fits more to be T. magnicornis. Due to the arista? ![]() |

i see there are no photos in net. Neither google images, neither flickr, neither in ispecies.org (this website is useful for us to seek for species photos and scientific articles). Is this Mediterranean species? Or is it widespread... and if so, why are there no photos?? |
