I presume - can anyone narrow down to genus or sp. ?

Yes, I think it is a solitary mining bee of the genus Andrena, and I think I can count 12 antennal segments, so it's a female - but that's as far as I can go Shock! You could also try posting the image on the Bees, Wasps and Ants Recording Society's egroup:

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
