Due to the overall appearance it is a Syrphus species (the crucial characters to distinguish this genus from similar genera are not visible). But the images (of two different specimens, the first being a male, the second a female, so it is possible that two species are shown!) do not offer the crucial characters to decide which of the three species they show. S. vitripennis has the 2nd basal cell of the wing partly bare of microtrichia, torvus males have densely hairy eyes, and the ribesii females have entirely yellow hind femora. Regards, Dieter |
