Most probably visited Tussilago farfara that grew near. Size 8 to 8.5 mm.

This is Odontomyia angulata, an early spring species. The male abdomen is covered in shining silver hairs - best shown in your first photo.

I think Tony means O. argentata.
O. angulata is a summer species with larger abdominal markings.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
