I photographed this fly today at Leerdam, Netherlands. There were lots of them around, almost all sunning against tree trunks. They were quite small, perhaps 7-8 mm (?) long. I guess this is Empididae, perhaps genus Rhamphomyia? Could anyone confirm or deny this and could it perhaps be identified to species level? Thanks in advance! http://slamenietd...web-log.nl |

Yes. Position rather characteristic for Ramphomyia crssirostris.
