Dates: Northern Germany, Schleswig-Holstein, Stadt Schenefeld, at an uncultivated natural area near a small rivulet, 25 msm, Outsidefoto: kuv, 17th of May 2013. Comparing with photographs of diptera gallery, I think it could be Cheilosia perhaps albitarsis? Please help. Kuv Edited by kuv on 06-11-2013 10:22 |

Hi Kuv, my opinion as a non-expert: Cheilosia variabilis. Very common here in spring, too. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Thank you very much Jürgen - I'll change the heading to "Cheilosia variabilis?". Best regards Kuv |

Hello Kuv, The habitus, slightly darkened wings and the profile of the head would definately make this C. variabilis. C. variabilis is a typical species whom in may sits on leaves of bushes and trees in sunny spots along a forest path. Greetings, Ectemnius |
