Wiedemannia from Slovakia
rvanderweele
From Jozef Obona I received an extraordinary young Wiedemannia, collected 4.v.2013 in Kremnica. It is very young; impossible to study its wings, the fly itself was still practically colourless. Yet, I think, the genitalia may lead to its correct species, because it looks fairly typical. I compared it with the drawings in the series Fauna Hungariae, because I did not find a match.

Is there somebody with a lot of experience with Central European Wiedemannias?

It looks to me a bit like W. lamellata, but the literature says it has 1 humeral bristle, while this male has two big humeral bristles.

Yesterday evening I looked at the specimen again. Indeed on one side it has 1 humeral on the other 2 humeral bristles, so possibly it is "just" a W. lamellata with a "handicap" Wink Anyway, if correct, nice species. A pity I cannot dry it.
