Eristalis alpina is the correct name? Region Nizke Beskydy - Dukla about altitude cca 400 m a. s. l. Thank you . I made a photo of 24.08.2013.

Hello Jozef, Yes this is indeed a female E. alpina! Nice photos of a very nice species! A dark and slender Eristalis. Anterior part of thorax dusted whilst posterior part is not (so) dusted. Face and tibia with conspicuous silver hairs. Metatars of hind leg yellow. The swollen third femur is not visible in the photos here. Do you have another, lateral shot? Greetings, Ectemnius |
