Hi BubikolRamios,

you already characterized the larvae as members of the Culicidae - the 2nd might be the pupa of the 1st!? Just a guess, can't say any further to species.
(By-the-way: maybe try at the section 'Diptera (eggs, larvae, pupae)'Wink

Best regards,

Marc

Thanks.

Doh the second is not fixed as I would presume for pupa. It moves fast in contracting manner.

Culicidae are one of the few fly families with very active pupae - as they are exposed, rather than hidden, they need some means of escaping predators and their rapid movement certainly makes them difficult to catch.

Your larvae are Aedes/Ochlerotatus, but I can't see enough detail in your photos to take them further.

I guess Culex pipiens.

I'm not sure why you feel this is Culex pipiens - it is clearly an Aedes (s.l.) species, probably Ochlerotatus annulipes. If you check on a reliable site (Diptera.info!) for images of Culex pipiens, you'll see that the legs have no pale rings, and that the palps are a different shape.

Thanks.
