Hi! another fly from 2.may.2007, Nucsoara, Romania (~650m). resting on Rubus leaves. maybe an ID is posible, cosmln |

I don't think this is pluvialis - the thoracic markings are not quite right. The best way to check the species is to examine the genitalia. You can get a key to British Anthomyiidae from Mike Ackland which includes figures of many of the European species. I can send you his contact details if you want. But I am sure that you have additional species in Romania, so you will need other literature as well.
