In hurry to ID this larvae to save it

I have found this larvae which I presume is a beetle larvae. It's about 8cm long and 2cm thick. Found in region close to Alicante today. Wants to dig itself down in the ground as quickly as possible.

Scarabaeidae. At that size, it could be Oryctes nasicornis

Thanks Tony, I received the same answer on another forum + that I've now heard others tell me that they have seen that beetle around here. Belief is not an idea that the mind possesses but an idea that possesses the mind. |

I'm sure it would like to dig itself into some nice mulm (pulverised rotten wood, oak is best) or for second choice some compost. Good luck, Scarabaeoid |
