A rather distinctive small Empidid with metallic colors.

Could also be a Hybotid.

Yes, I have this paper. BTW, unidentified Hybotidae on Carpathian Basin Wildlife Gallery mostly belong to Platypalpus and a few Hybos.  All the best, Igor |

Thx Igor, I do not usually post images of these two genera, because species level identification is rarely (if ever) possible. I renamed the images. Gabor: You are right, unfortunately it is very difficult to identify Platypalpus to species level after images. Your last three images are Platypalpus. Probably I know some of your Japanese species. Regards, Igor |

Thx Igor, I would have never guessed that my females are not the Hybotids. The jizz looked right for Leptopeza flavipes female, though I was concerned that the antennae look quite different. Now that you id-ed the flies I see more differences
