Ichneumonidae? Braconidae? with very long ovipositor
Isidro
I don't know how it's said this word in English, excuse me.

Strange ichneumonid at Tauste, Aragon, Spain, february 2007. 4-5 cm, but the body sizes only about 2 cm.

My guess is family Braconidae but the photo is lacking detail and scale. Many pimpline ichneumonids have long ovipositors but I don't know any pimplines with darkened wings.

With the details visible on the photo it can also be a Ichneumonidae Cryptinae. Have a look at the petiole on the second photograph.

I have seen tropical braconids like this (with incredibly long ovipositors) and in general I usually guess if an ichneumonoid has very darkened wings it is most likely to be a braconid. But like cthirion said, we need to see wing venation to be sure.
