Hello, for me this looks a bit like the common Sarcophaga carnea, but the pattern on the abdomen seems to be different. What is it? (found last week, germany, size about 9mm). Thanks, Michael |

Notice that the topcell is closed and even stalked, very unusual for Sarcophaga sl. So my guess is this is Estheria in Tachinidae / Dexiinae. Very difficult to go further, possibly E. bohemani |

Nice fly ... I don't see many Estheria here in UK but I always think they look quite like sarcophagids ![]() |
