Volucella zonaria female. May I ask you if there were many Vespa crabro nests nearby? I usually find these females near hornets. Yesterday, for example, I captured one just beneath a small nest. |

Hi Valerio, thanks a lot for your id. I didn't see any hornest nests around, but next time I see a female Volucella zonaria, I'll keep an eye out for Vespa's. Regards, David |
