Plesina nigroscutellata from Viseu - new species for Portugal

I saw this Catharosia (?) from Viseu, in 11th AUGUST 2014 . It was wandering over the soil and in shadowy place.
Around 4 mm size.

Yes, that might very well be Catharosia, though it looks interesting.
Are there apical scutellar bristles present ? Palpus present ?

it has two parallel apical scutellar bristles. subscutellum is very swollen

I think it would help to see the whole fly - legs included. Dorsally too - and the antennae. Smile Catharosia pygmaea can have pale forms and then there is the rare flavifrons ... not sure if there are others Smile

Habitat of this fly... full of Cupressus (mainly this tree) and granitic soil.
