Hi Guenter,

I found this:
http://www.insekt...nurus.html and this http://www.dipter...oto_id=419
Could it be the same?

I think thats neoitamus cyanurus! The colour of legs are typical for this species. The legs of N. socius are darker and not so yellow.

please look hereWink

Bothe species, socius and cyanurus show a high variety in most characters. SPEIGHT found only one possibilty for separation: the microtrichia on wings. If you haven't the specimen in your collection for checking, please use Neoitamus spec.. Yours

Speight, M.C.D. (1988): Neoitamus cothurnatus (Diptera: Asilidae) not an Irish species. - Irish naturalists' journal 22(11): 485-487; Belfast.

Hello Markus, Dysmachus and others,

Thanks for the well appreciated input. Since I don't collect specimens I guess I'll have to do with Neoitamus sp.Sad
