Doli on Pacific Ocean Beach?
Stephen
I have posted images of two flies below, marked Fly #1 and Fly #2. Although photographed at two different beaches, at first I thought they were the same species. Then I noticed that their antennae seemed different, unless that is a misleading trick of the camera angle.

With long legs and metallic green color and wooly eyes I am thinking Doli, is that right? Any ID help will be appreciated.

Ocean beach, Oregon USA, 13 May 2007. I did not record the size of Fly #1, but Fly #2 measured about 8 mm to the back of the wings.

Here's a closer look at #2, a little blurred. Same family, different genus, maybe? The antennae look different, unless that is a trick of the camera angle.

N2 looks a Calyptrate fly, with so small eyes, may be some Nearctic Scathophagidae?

Fly #1 needs lateral and anterior view. If it is a female, then it may belong to one of several marine shore genera of the subfamily Hydrophorinae (e.g., Conchopus, Hypocharassus etc.)

Kahis, Nikita, Igor, Thanks very much for your help with these two flies.

I regret that I have Fly #1 from only one other angle, a sort of dorso-lateral shot that I am posting now. I don't know if this will show anything useful.
