Italy, Apennines near Lucca, 370 msl, 1st August. Valley slope, open woodland. Acroceridae, Astomella hispaniae (is A hispaniae the only european species?) Two specimens retrieved from a swimming pool filter! Nice pictures! there is also Astomella cretensis in Europe, but that is only known from Crete. |

Hi Steve, Yours is a male. The female's abdomen is much more ovate an not parallel sided. |

Should be an exceptionally dark female. They are normally more yellowish.
