Siphona geniculata?
crex
Location: Near Stockholm, Sweden
Date: 2007-JUN-22
Habitat: Park, Leucanthemum vulgare?

First I thought this was a Muscidae/Anthomyiidae, but then I realised it's more likely it's a Tachinid (wing venation, facial hairs, bristles on abdomen). I found a lookalike - Siphona geniculata - in the gallery. If it isn't that maybe another Siphona species? Unfortunately I got only this photo.

Unfortunately you won't get many people to put an ID to even a specimen of some Siphona spp., let alone a photo. But going on the balance of probabilities (it is much more common that the other Siphona spp.) and the fact that it is a muddy brown base colour, and I think I can see a few marginals on T1+2 then I'd say it is "most likely to be" S. geniculata Wink
