Happy couple (2)
lynkos
Hope I don't get struck off the list for this "loving" photo Shock. Can anyone help me identify this happy couple? As ever, taken in the maquis on the coast near Rome.

Thanks in advance, Smile Sarah

Sarah,

You have got a pair of the syrphid genus Paragus here. Maybe someone is confident enough to put a name in, but I expect it will not be easy.

PS: I took the liberty of splitting your original thread, since this image now is in the Syrphidae forum and the other "loving" couple is (appropriately) in Diptera (adults). Grin

i?ve caught one Paragus (i suppose) 2 weeks ago and i?m not sure if it?s tibialis or the other one next to it in the keys as their description are for males and i?m not sure what she/he is; the abdomen is completely black
i?ll try to take a new ugly pic with the binocularWink

here it is, catched in december. Now it?s more slim than it was; in case it?s really Paragus it?s male. Thanks in advance
