John Carr
Long coxae and long tibial spurs are typical of Mycetophilidae and related families. Most species in that group have longer antennae than your fly.

Have just taken another set of photos in another area.
Photo quality is not great but you can see longer antennae
Does it appear to be in the same family?

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
