Blueish Tephritidae-Terellia?
Andre Jas
Hello,

To my opinion this comes closest to some Terellia species. Is it?
Georgsdorf-Germany-2007-07-07. Thanks to allSmile

Well Andreas, I'm very curious what John Smit has to say about this specimen. It certainly looks like a Terellia, but the wing marking is very strong. So let's wait for the opinion of John.
A very beautiful species!

It's a Terellia alright!
But I sure hope you collected it!!
I have seen specimens before with too much colouration in the wings, but I will need to check my collection before I can propose a name for this one!

Hallo Jan Willem and John,

Thanks for responding and no I didn't collect it. I'm just a simple photographerSad But I sure hope you can put a name on it. If you need enlargements please say soWink

Next time you should bring some conatiners to collect some of the flies.
In this case it was not necessary for the id, it's Terellia ruficauda.
I have more specimens with very dark wings, though this one seems rather extreme.

Hi John,

Great you put an ID on itSmile I'm just a simple photographer, who likes to know what he shot, but if one or two can't be fully identified, I can live with thatWink Thanks.
