Hi, I photographed this fly in Veldhoven, the south of the Netherlands, near a small river a couple of days ago. I have searched other websites to determine this fly, but did not succeed. Well, i am not quite sure : I think it is Empis lutea - dance fly species. Hope somebody can tell me which dance fly species it really is. More help from this great site is appreciated. Thank you very much, Richard |

Probably, yes, because it cannot be lutea on account of the dark markings on the mesonotum.
