The yellow scutellum rules out Conops quad, and most other Conops in Europe except scutellatus or silaceus. I would guess this to be Conops scutellatus, which is not a common species (and absent here in the UK). |

Could be a Leopoldius, but I am pretty familiar with the European 'black & yellow' Leopoldius (new key in preparation), and this specimen does not look right for this genus to me. |

Thank you very much for your feedbacks concerning my fly. G?nter Schwendinger already pointed out the problem of differentiation between Conops and Leopoldius. Without a foto of the front or at least from the side it is almost impossible to classify it. So I will put it into my archives as unknown.
