Beris - strobli?
Anczoviczka
Hi, I found this on wet mountain meadow with Petasites (1000 m), 24. 5. Dark legs, including hind tibia and tarsi, 3rd segment of the antennae does not seem (to me) to be thickened = B. strobli? Thank you for your opinions.

Beris strobli or hauseri. Exact ID is possible only after dissection of genital furca.

Thanks, Libor.
You will have to wait for the forthcoming publication, I am afraid.
The real strobli I have only seen from the Alps and from Czechoslovakia.

I will wait, Theo...
By the way, I have all European Beris including kovalevi and schaposchnikowi. Beris trobli - four male from Czech localities and one female (?) from another locality. If you wish to get any data, write me an e-mail. And I can ask directly author of the picture for all data, I know him personally.

Thanks, Libor, for your kind offer.
Our field guide will be restricted to lowland northwestrn Europe
(say, north of the line Paris - Frankfurt). So we will not provide distribution information on central Europe.
Strictly speaking, we do.not need to include Beris strobli, since all lowlands “strobli” have proven to be hauseri. But due to the major confusion, we will include strobli and we would love to use these pictures. So if you could ask the photographer, that would be a great help.

Hello both,

this Beris comes from the Giant mountains, wet meadow close to the Luční brook, approximately here: 50°40'41.209"N, 15°43'29.131"E. And I will be very pleased if you use my photo in your publication.
