 Tachinidae - Elomyia lateralis ?

Hi, I found this little fly (7mm approx) that looks like a female of Elomyia lateralis, but I just read in another post concerning a male of the same species that its supposed to be a Mediterrean species... and it was found 50km south of Paris.   Any idea ? |

Theo mentioned that the curved petiole on vein-M was quite distinctive so it should be Elomyia lateralis. Also, the phasiine tachinids seem to be extending their range north - perhaps due to the ever-warming climate?  |

Great call ! Could have missed it myself. It's very small and dark for Elomyia, but then again, the wing venation is unmistakable. Another species to look for more north. Theo |

To add to my previous post: From Holland anything south of the Loire is 'Mediterrean'. So I use this word rather loosely (maybe too loosely) I can imagine that the word has a more restricted meaning in France. Still, surprising find near Paris Theo |
