Lonchaeidae?

Member Location: Posts: 13502 Joined: 11.09.04	Hello! Is this 4 mm fly from yesterday on Tanacetum vulgare (Ostwestfalen/Germany) a Lonchaeid? If so, I think further identification is impossible (?). Member Location: Posts: 9295 Joined: 05.06.06	yes! A lonchaeid. Perhaps Lonchaea sp. Here they are rather common. Usually we can find them in swarming.

Thanks for confirmation! They are not rare here, too, but I have always only seen them as single individuals in the lower vegetation.
