Sphaerophoria species
Rui Andrade
Hi!

I would like to know how many species within Sphaerophoria exist in Europe (and in Portugal if possible) and if S. scripta is easily recognizable from the other species.

The species in the photo is S. scripta?
Thanks

Addd Spherophoria kaa from Sweden, Finland and NW Russia (plus Russian Far East). It was only recently recognised in Europe, Fauna Europaea hasn't yet updated its records.

The new Finnish book has a key to female Sphaerophoria. I have not tried it out yet though.

Thank you all. I suppose the males I see are all S. scripta because they have long abdomens.
