I don't say if it is Protophormia terranovae or protocalliphora azurea.

Looks for me as C.vomitoria (but I don't know this family (yetGrin).

I'm not convinced either. Calypters yellowy-brown and only a little dusting on the thorax, none on the abdomen - why not P azurea?

I'm quiet, because I can't tell.
The squama seems dark, the wings are definitely folded as in Protocalliphora and I can't see the bristles right.
I don't see a red beard, but then again, Calliphora loewi could be an alternative.
So, for me, picture is not good enough, sorry.

Oke. last comment from my side:

The third antennal segment is short compared with the second, so it can't be Calliphora.
The calyptrae indeed is yellow.

So I'm with Susan: Protocalliphora, dark picture

Yep, jizz is all Protocalliphora. Difficult to say exactly why other than the way the wings are held, but look at how low the head is positioned on the thorax - Calliphora heads are placed much higher. Also the abdomen is more evenly coloured.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
