found on 2017-03-13, Al Marmoum Conservation Reserve, Emirate Dubai, UAE. Is it a Tephritidae (but I found this species directly on the sand only)? Well, this impressing behavior was described in Dikow, T. & W.N. Mathis (2002): A revision and phylogenetic study of Actocetor Becker (Diptera: Ephydridae).
