I saw this dark Tachinid today in Amstelveen. Size of Tachina fera. Habitat: rough grass land, approx chest high, with lots of Hogweed (where it is on in the photographs). Surrounded by suburb. Is it IDable?

Given the paucity of dark hairs on occiput and the lack of dusting on tergite 4, this is Eu. anthophila (by far the most common species here). Theo |
