I would check also Chalcosyrphus nemorum, I don't know Xylota with yellow "knees". Xylota sp. usually have yellow larger parts of tibia. On the other hand, the overall look is different. Edited by treebeard on 26-07-2017 20:33 |

Yes thanks Treebeard, with the enlarged hind femora, I thinking this is Chalcosyrphus nemorum. |

I agree with treebeard but be careful to eliminate Tropidia, which also bear large hind femora.
