I'm having trouble identifying this fellow for a longtime. The flower is a Carpobotus edulis (Hottentot Fig) and the place is near the coast. My best guess is a longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae), maybe a Acmaeops collaris, but it might also be a ground beetle (Carabidae family). Thanks for your help Joaquim Gaspar Lisboa |

All right Cosmin. It's a family often considered as sub-family of the Tenebrionidae: Alleculidae. The genus is Heliotaurus and the species, hm.... it's a group of species very related, and very, very difficult to identify it with security. But the name Heliotaurus ruficollis is the most known. |
