I keyed this specimen from Britain to Dynatosoma with Soli et al 2000, but I have no key to species. Is it possible to tell which one please? |

As in other mycetophilids, most important characters are on the male genitalia. Some other characters may sometimes help too, such as colour of thorax and legs, but specialists usually rely only on genitalic characters. In fuscicorne, a single narrow apical projection of gonostylus is specific, see e.g. photo here: http://www.spessart-fliegen.de/diptera/mycetophilidae/dynatosoma/dynatosoma_fuscicorne/hpgs.html |
