Water fly
Isidro
This fly (sorry by the bad picture) was yesterday at Pe?aflor, Aragopn, Spain. Habitat: half-dried pond (cattle pond) with eutrophized (green) water, in the middle of the dry yesiferous steppe-land. Size: about 5-6 mm.

What is it?
Thanks Wink

Thanks Jorge!

more approximation welcome ;-)

I know that it's a bad picture, but more opinions always are welcome Wink

Yup, my opinion is that it's a bad picture too Wink (sorry, couldn't resist that one). But seriously, I don't think you will get a more accurate identification of muscids without super-fine quality pictures of all the relevant parts Smile

Muscidae, but not Coenosia. My guess would be Limnophora.

Thanks Kahis!
Chirs, my camera... is my camera Sad

I'd agree with Kahis that this looks like a Limnophora, though some female Lispe can look similar.
Even with (slightly overexposed) pictures like this, getting a number of different views helps enormously in putting a name to the flies.
Sometimes it does mean getting wet feet! Grin

Yes, but the fly can fly... and the water is too humid ;-)
