cosmln
Hi,

yesterday in the field.
not a good day but with couple good photos.

i think this is a Suillia (7mm fly). founded staying on vegetation.
habitat: a valley, beech (Fagus) forest, around 600m altitude.

some (2) photos in nature, and 2 of mounted specimen.

Please check the haed's supracervical setulae near neck. If black so S. umbratica , if yellowish so S. affinis Smile.

Again, there isn't S.umbratica in Gorodkov's key. I reexamened specimens of S.affinis from Moscow and Kursk reg. I have. All have yellow supracervical setulae near neck. But should I add to couplet with S.affinis
head's supracervical setulae near neck black S. umbratica
?

i have just look thru the microscope... from what i can see all is black there. just taken also two photos thru the oculars (dorsal view and latero-dorsal view)... maybe i don't look where needed.

from what i see is S.umbratica (from what is writen in the quote).

thanks,
