a fly at least?
Sundew
Hi,
This tiny animal with thin neck and coloured wings ran to and fro on the wall of our block. My camera was hardly able to catch it because of its speed and its minute size. This explains the poor quality of the pictures. I dare to show them here nevertheless, because I am so curious if there is a name for this little thing. Even its silhouette seems to be quite distinctive.
Thanks, Sundew

Many thanks, Paul. I have learned a lot about insects in the last months, and I am eager to go on with these fascinating animals!
By the way, I hope you had fine and recreative holidays!

these flies are pretty common on Acacia trunks, and specially, Tilia spp. trunk trees. They run very fast.

I guess you will have other representatives of the genus in Portugal, Jorge. The Check List for the Diptera of the Czech and Slovakian Republics lists 17 species already, so there might be a lot more in southwest Europe.
