Location: Near Stockholm, Sweden
Date: 2007-SEP-15
Habitat: Trunk of Oak
Size: 4-5 mm

Not sure which family this orange fly belongs to. Maybe Phoridae!?

Hallo,

good pictures of this Megaselia species. The typical thing about it is, that this species is very light. Not many Phorids have those yellow-orange palps. Anyway it is very hard to get it through the key because some important characters can not be identified on those pictures, sorry.
I am not sure about the sex of the species too, because the genitalia is covered by the wings. If it is female the determination is not possible, because there is no determination-key for Megaselia -females available at the moment.

Please excuse me that I cannot give more information.
