Thyridanthrax...
Bottin
Hello,

This is my first thread in this forum.
I posted this picture on the forum "Le monde des insectes" and latique advised me to try here (he doesn't know my level in English !!)

I hope the link works. This picture was taken in Corsica. T. elegans seems to be a good option.

Welcome to the forum, and don`t worry, your English is absolutely fine!
You started with a very nice Bombyliidae member, and Piluca Alvarez is the best of us to help with identification. If she does not show up in the next days, send her a private message (to Piluca_Alvarez) or e-mail her.
Regards, Sundew

Ok, thank you. I will wait a few days.

Hello, Bottin and Sundew Smile

Yes, T. elegans is the best match. As far as it is known up to this date, this would be the only possibility in Corsica. Other Thyridanthrax species recorded there, simply don't match what I can see in the photo.

And thanks for your kind words, Sundew, but you are overrating me Wink I'd wish David Gibbs was still around here... He is a real expert in Bee-flies Cool I am only an amateur, although I do the best I can...

Best to you both

Piluca
