Hello, Pierre Duhem : France : Paris : 75018 : 20/09/2018 Altitude : 47 m - Taille : 7-8 mm Réf. : 220321 Pierre Duhem : France : Paris : 75018 : 20/09/2018 Altitude : 47 m - Taille : 7-8 mm Réf. : 220322 {Click on the picture to get a better resolution. Click again to come back to the thread.} At the beginning, I thought it was a Conops, but evdb told me that the snout was not long enough. I then looked in the genus Leopoldius. It seems that my specimen doesn't have a yellow scutellum, which, if I'm not wrong, would lead to L. calceatus. But I'm not sure at all. Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance. Pierre Duhem |

Hi Pierre, You are right! A female Leopoldius calcetaus. Yellow top of the head with black frons, black anterior wing margin, black rings on femora and a black theca. Very nice find. Recently reported new for Belgium and the Netherlands. Kind regards, Ectemnius |
