A little bit over 5 mm. side view specimen is almost black, nevertheless from the top its abdomen looks light brown. Wings are of the same colour. I found several species "resting" on nettles in a woodmarshland near the sea side. Photo taken this same afternoon in Corujo-Vigo (Spain) Commoents as always are wellcome. Rafael |

Reminds me of Minettia longipennis, but not sure. Have you got once again a dorsal view ?

Got this shot of another specimen which looked to me to have a severe injury in the scutum. Wasnt able to get much more sharpness on the body this time. Hope it helps. Thanks again.- Rafael |

This last pict seems to be good candidate for M. longipennis to me. If Kahis doesn't disagree... PS : as a rule of thumb, this angle of view is better for ID than a strictly lateral view. Here we can see dorsum, wing venation, legs, frons etc. in only one shot. Perhaps less aesthetic, but so more practical ! Greetings. Edited by Stephane Lebrun on 01-10-2007 12:38 Stephane. |
