Hello everybody, Am I right when I say that this is Trichocera sp. probably T. hiemalis? Confirmation please...  Thanks!

we need wing venation to discard other tipuloids... otherwise it will be a little hard... |

Limoniidae. Not Trichoceridae.

Is there, apart from the wing venation and antennae another reason for identifying this as Limoniidae and not Trichoceridae? I found a picture of a Trichocera hiemalis in one of my insectbooks and the similarity is undeniable.... Are there differences in size perhaps? Of course I do not wish to disgard the expertise of my fellow forumists but I guess I think I want a second opinion...  Anyone??? Best regards, Iolaire |
