Hi, This fly was photo on may at Israel. It looks pretty primitive to me. few hairs on the thorax. and relative few veins on the wings. |

Yes, Calyptrate. My gut feeling says it is a Muscid, but could well be an Anthomyiid.

The picture was taken with my old compact camera so the quality is not bright. I tried to close up the thorax for better view. |
