Hello! Nobody? Please help!

John Carr
Eastern species in the revision by Webb (1978):

D. elongata has broad dark band along basal margins of tergites and cell m3 absent.

D. fasciventris has broad dark band along basal margins of tergitess and cell m3 present or rarely reduced.

D. rufithorax has median spots at bases of tergites not reaching lateral margins and cell m3 present.

Thanks John. D. rufithorax can be discarded then. Can you give me a link to a image of a wing where cell m3 is signed? I looked at a general fly venation nomenclature, but the cells are not named, only the veins...

John Carr
The short stub vein off the discal cell only in the left wing of this fly is vein M3 which forms the forward edge of cell m3 when present https://bugguide....04/bgimage

Thanks John! Sadly in my image it's difficult to interpret, but I think that vein M3 would be as marked in red here. I think that this vein is absent, what would make this D. elongata... right? Or it's too risky to put this name?

The red line is where M3 would be.
