Oedalea?
Nikita Vikhrev
Kursk reg., 26 May, oak forest.
This fly was mixed with another material and twice escaped being sended to Igor Shamshev for ID.
My attempt to key it leads me to Oedalea holmgreni.
What is experts opinion?

I do not have the key here, but at least Oedalea is correct.

Hard to tell from phot but I doubt it is holmgreni as the antennae appears to have a short fat arista (more pointed in holmgreni). I think it more likely to be flavipes
cheers

1. Thank you Paul and Adrian.
2. The couplet dividing O.holmgreni and O.flavipes deal with shape of arista tip and require material to compare.
May be it helps:
halteres blackish
setae on scutellum - blackish (according my key in O.flavipes has to be yellowish)
